I Heart Faces Photo Challenge | Anything But A Face!

Happy Monday all! I had an amazing weekend which I will post about later. I spent all weekend playing with my new lens. :::squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee::: I can hardly contain myself! Anywho this is my first time joining on of the photo challenges on I Heart Faces.

I have been a lurker for awhile but I now feel confident enough to link up ...YAY!  This challenge was "Anything but a Face," and it just so happens I took this yesterday morning!

Sunday morning my 3 year old Sofia came up to me and said, "Mama I have a present for you," and held out her little hand and I had to snap this! Love little girls!

Twice failed photo op.....but a cute Baby Faux Hawk!

Yesterday Antonio has his 2nd official haircut and this time we went to David Alan Cuts for Kids in Paramus and it was wonderful.  The staff was amazing and there was candy and toys galore for all the kiddies!  However, when I got there I couldn't snap ONE.SINGLE.PHOTO! I left my memory card AT HOME! GGRRRRRRRRRRR! When he got his first haircut back in December I was so caught up trying to keep him from crying that I didn't take a picture then either and afterwards I took a picture at target but the camera I was using had a different size memory card that doesn't fit in my laptop :( So this time I was determined to take my new camera and I drove all the way there only to have left the damn memory card in my computer at home. :::kicks self for the 20th time:::  I guess I have to wait until haircut number 3 comes around to get pics!

 This week was "Arm's Length" and I think i did pretty well for a first-timer :)  Taken right after the shower....its a rare occasion you will see me with my naturally nappy curly hair!

To my kit lens that came with my Nikon. Sorry lil buddy .....my new 50mm f/1.8 has officially become the newest member of the family .......and yes, mama chose a favorite.......and well, you're just not cutting it anymore :(

He lived up to his namesake!

Well Mr. V sure lived up to his namesake as he does every year. You can't have a last name like Valentin and do nothing....so of course he goes all out! Believe me...I'm not complaining either! I came home to this delish meal on Monday night! (We also hit up the theater to see "No Strings Attached" ....super cute and funny)

Big P-I-M-P-I-N at 13 months!

Actually ....more like never pimpin ......just because he's going to be a respectful gentlemen when he grows up! But the paci is still funny!  Oh, and you see the little black spot on the bobo??? Well Sofia decided to color it with a sharpie! But ...last night she also decided to use that same sharpie on my kitchen table!

And today he's 13 months old! Wowee time flies.  Not too many updates here though. He's still not really walking full time though.  I mean, he takes about 10 or 11 steps but then the chubster just decides to crawl instead.  Hopefully he will walk altogether soon because Mama's arms are getting sore carrying him everywhere!

We missed the 12 month checkup because he's been a little sick bt hopefully soon I will have some stats.  I do know he weighs close to 30 lbs.  but he's not really fat......just a big kid I guess...HA!  Who would've thought little ol' me would have a big kid after having Sofia who is still such a petite little thang!  She doesn't even hit 30 lbs.....so I'm guessing her little brother could surpass her in the next year!

Super Late 1st Birthday Post - [Photo Overload]

I know I'm wayyyyyyyy late (like a month late) on posting this but some many things are going on right now. :::hangs head in shame:::

In my opinion it's so true that baby #2 gets less than baby #1. In our case at least. We didn't do a huge party for Antonio like we did for Sofia as we just didn't have the money or time really and let's face it Jersey has been a frozen icy hell for weeks so no one really wants to go out any way.

On the day of his birthday we just sang happy birthday and made him a chocolate cake at home. I don't think he was really feeling the whole thing though...lol

Sorry my focus was way off!

I think he was more concerned with getting out of the highchair to run around!

The following week we met my mom and her BF in Harrisburg at my aunt & grandparents house for a spaghetti dinner and cake and ice cream....nothing major but perfect all the same since we got to spend it with family.  It was bittersweet though because my grandfather has alzheimers and it breaks my heart that he has no clue who I am since we were so close.  He kept asking who my son was and who I was :( 

I was happy also so see my great-grandmother Carmen who we call Mama Chu-Chu....I love her so much and my kids are so lucky to have a great great grandma!  The only thing was in true old-fashioned tradition she flat out refused to kiss or hug or take pics with my kids because she had a cold ....LOL.  Always the potective mother!

But we had a great time.....Antonio was in his glory terrorizing the house and exploring the new territory!

The next day we headed home to NJ but we stopped at Cabela's since Daddy has a sick obsession with that place and all things to do with guns and hunting and what not.
