Do all kids hate brushing their teeth?

Usually when I say, "Sofia let's brush your teeth'" I get not just one......but ALL of the following....

1.  "Later mama!"
2.  "I dont like it!"
3.  "I'm not doing it!"
4.  "I already did." (lie)
5.  "You're not my best friend now!"
6.  "You're not coming to my next birthday party either!" (yes she really says that every time shes mad)
7.  "I want my Daddy"
8.  "I said I want my Daddy! Call him mama!"
9.  "Daaaaaaaaaddddddddddddddddddddddddyyyyyyyyyyyyy!"

No bribes of any kind work when it comes to brushing this little cookie's teeth!   I've tried music....turning it into a name it!  So it usually ends up being done by force.......but the strangest thing is hours later at random times during the day I will find Little Miss S in the bathroom doing you guessed it....

Really Sofia? You're only 3! Aren't you a little young to be having such drastic mood swings ??? You mean this migraine I have now was all for nothing?

I feel like death!

Ok well maybe not "death" but more like a terrible hangover. The problem is I didn't drink anything! I went home from work early on Tuesday and from the moment I walked in my house I felt nauseous and then I began vomiting all night! The next day I dragged myself out of bed long enogh to get the kids rady for daycare and sure enough I came home and slept for only an hour when their school called and told me to come get Sofia. Now she was vomiting too! Thank God my son was ok so i left him there but my planned day to rest was no more! Today I'm back at work still sick to my stomach but now also with a headache. At least we're almost to Friday! In the meantime some lovely votes on TMB would be awesome :)

Ok ok maybe I do stalk ....but just a little! No seriously .....when I saw this on  ♥ The Paper Mama,  I just had to play too because there are some pretty kick-butt blogs out there that I just can't get enough of.  You can also link up your top Faves on ♥ The Paper Mama....Check out these ladies below who made my list. Maybe you are one of them?!?!?!

I definitely have to go with Mrs. F from As the Forest{e}Grows for obvious reasons. I love her blog she is a stylish young mama like myself who loves her little princess and also has a love of baby hair accessories like I do! I think she is a super funny versatile blogger who always makes me laugh in her posts and not only that she take super-fab pics too! One thing I love about her blog is that she is not afraid to be herself and gives her readers heartfelt honest posts regardless of whether she thinks people will like it or not. Thanks Mrs. F for sharing a little piece of your life. Your blog kicks major booty! BTW if you check her blog out she is doing a super cute giveaway right now!

Loukia from Lous Lou's Views is another blog that I can't get enough of.  I soooooo love Greek culture because I grew up in a town where we had a huge Greek Fest every year and I knew alot of Greek people so me and my friends used to work at the festival every summer.  I grew to love Greek culture and Loukia's blog is full of it! She is a stylish mom of 2 young boys and she never holds back.  Her hilarious stories about her family and traveling and day to day life always keep me coming back for more! Her view on parenting I totally relate with! She rarely says no (as do I) but showers her boys with love an affection like awesome mamas do!  Great job Loukia!

T. Bird from Look at the one blogger who will have you peeing your pants in her posts she is THAT funny! She is a mama to little Miss Alex who is always getting into mischief and she is also a new mom to Brynn Everly! Even through her latest pregnancy she was still rockin' her skinny jeans and looking super cute! Miss Alex and Miss Brynn are also always dressed too cute! If you want to laugh check out any one of T. Bird's posts and you will be cracking up! Did I mention she also takes awesome pics too! She could teach me a thing or two!

Naina from Style'n is also on my list that I read daily.  She just started blogging this year and with her impecable taste in fashion she has quickly gained a ton of readers and her followers continue to grow.  I love the way she puts outfits together for herself and her little princess Ariyana.  Naina also has great giveaways that any trendy mama would love and she always offers her readers a peek into whats hot each season! Keep the fashion tips coming Naina!

Jiye from Pearls- N -Green Tea is also one of my faves.  She is a Chicago mama of a precious daughter who loves trafveling and she is also fairly new into the blogging world. Jiye loves sharing her fashion tips with her readers! Her daughter is such a cutie-pie and every bit the fashionista like her mama! One of my favorite posts she actually wrote today and it features her little princess showing off her yoga moves! HILARIOUS! Keep blogging Jiye!

Gettin' My Hair Did!!!!!!!!!

You may have remember I posted before about being in a bit of a funk partly due to my hair situation. Well, normally I get my hair done every 2 months but 2011 got the best of me and I kid you not.....I have not cut my hair since March 2010!!!!!I know I know....

:::hangs head in shame:::

So now, close to a year later I'm finally going to get my haircut tommorrow. No color...just a cut which is too long overdue. My hair touches my butt right now and I absolutely hate it! While most women would probably love that ...I DON'T. It's a curly crazy mess! All of my layers are grown out which equals a long heavy head of hair with no body at all.  It take forever to straighten and if I wear it curly it looks terrible ....BOOOOOOO! So I will be cutting at least 4-5 inches off!  Even with that it will still be long Im thinking tons and tons of layers and side bangs too!

If any of you are ever in NYC/NJ and want to look totally effin' fabulous you must visit Shag 86.  Even if I move out of NJ I swear I will drive (or fly...LOL) all the way here to get my hair done .....that's how loyal I am! You leave that salon and Kim K. (love her!) will have nothing on you! Remember when I went red and with bangs......this fabulosity was from Shag 86 too!

:::squeeee::::: I'm so excited and will post pics as soon asap!

Pay It Forward Challenge ...continued

Hey everyone remember this post ...well so far I still only have 2 people who actually reposted the challenge...There are still 2 places open.....

1.  Merry from Merry w/Children
2.  Will this be you?
3.  Will this be you?

An Inspirational Post on Love & Marriage

I just read this post on The Baby Plan and wanted to share it because this story I think all us can relate to at one time or another...

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I
held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate
quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't
know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want
a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.
She didn't seem to be annoyed by my
words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question.
This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are
not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she
wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give
her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn't love her
anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a
divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30%
stake of my company.
She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The
woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt
sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I
had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me,
which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of
release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to
be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late
and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went
straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an
eventful day with Jane.

When I woke up, she was still there at the
table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want
anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested
that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible.
Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't
want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to
me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her
into out bridal room on our wedding day.
She requested that every day for
the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever
morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together
bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife's
divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter
what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention
was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both
appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms.
His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then
to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes
and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling
somewhat upset. I put her down outsidethe door. She went to wait for the bus to
work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us
acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of
her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long
time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her
face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute
I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted
her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given
ten years of her life to me.
On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our
sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became
easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made
me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on
quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my
dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that
was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit
me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I
reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and
said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his
mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son
to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was
afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms,
walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand
surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just
like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On
the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had
gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life
lacked intimacy.
I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without
locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked
upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the
divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my
forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry,
Jane, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she
and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each
other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our
wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.
Jane seemed
to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst
into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop
on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me
what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning
until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my
hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed -
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with
Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me
from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the
divorce.-- At least, in the eyes of our son--- I'm a loving husband....

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a
relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank.
These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in
themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things
for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you.

you do, you just might save a marriage.
Many of life's failures are people
who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

Tubby Time = Fun(ny) Time

If Sofia loves anything, it's definitely tubby time! This is her favorite time of the day and also mine becuase she no longer naps much so I get a little free time too. I love listening to her in there playing and singing and being such a silly girl! Plus it's the only place I get decent lighting for pics.

I am definitely in need if a Lightscoop ASAP!

Making Silly faces....I made these a bit large so you can see she still has the heterochromia iridium (sectoral) in left eye which looks really cool when i get good lighting. In this case is a bit blurry though.
